The AWS Microsoft Modernization Program (MMP) helps customers fully realize their investment in the AWS cloud by modernizing workloads running on EC2 Windows, including .NET Framework applications, SQL Server databases, and Windows file systems. Leveraging MMP is a cost-effective route to realizing the benefits of modernization
- Dramatic cost savings: modern license-free platforms including cross-platform .NET on Linux, Amazon Aurora databases for PostgreSQL and MySQL, and Amazon S3 bring significant savings
- Up to 45% savings for .NET applications with Linux on AWS Graviton arm64 processors

The AWS MMP consists of three phases
During the alignment phase, Evolve Cloud Services collaborates with you to understand your modernization drivers from business and technical standpoints, to identify the key stakeholders on your team, and the portfolio of workloads you run in AWS that you are considering for modernization.
This phase typically consists of one or more meetings, with key stakeholders from your company and Evolve Cloud Services, optionally with your AWS account team
The Modernization Viability Assessment (MVA) is performed at no cost to you. The assessment includes:
- Identifying your goals for modernization from both business and technical standpoints
- Portfolio assessment (if desired) to identify the best candidates for modernization and modernization paths
- Technical deep dive by AWS certified Solutions Architects
- Future state architecture, technology stack, infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- TCO analysis to identify cost savings realized via modernization
- High-level project plan and level of effort estimate for a modernization project or proof-of-concept
Evolve Cloud Services works closely with your technical team, bringing experienced developers and database architects to modernize your application and its build/test/deployment processes.
We leverage GenAI tools from AWS and others to accelerate both .NET Framework to cross-platform .NET and SQL Server to PostgreSQL modernization. We also create CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments of the modernized application.
